Welcome to HistGeogUni!
Universities are eminent seats of knowledge production, circulation and transfer that represent key institutions in knowledge-based economies.
Understanding the nature and development of universities from a long-term perspective is therefore vital for the formulation of sustainable policies for the present and future welfare of all members of the university.
With this agenda in mind, HistGeogUni – A global research network on the historical geographies of the university was founded in the context of a research project on academic travel in German universities funded by the Fritz Thyssen Foundation.
HistGeogUni aims to connect scholars with similar research interests across the world and to provide information on members’ research and public engagement to diverse academic communities and interested publics.
With best regards
